Shooting another photographer’s wedding is nothing short of an honor, especially when that photographer is the one and only Aamie Gillam. She’s my soul sister, no doubt.
Twenty-thirteen was a big year for me, I married the most incredible man in the galaxy. (I can only vouch for the Milky Way) Tyler and Katie Branch flew all the way from California to photograph our little unique wedding… which was stress free, offbeat and full of the brim of undying, genuine; love. If you want to peek into the day we had, and the breath taking photos that Tyler and Katie captured, they have them on their website right here.
I didn’t blog a lot in 2013, I could list a million excuses but the main one exists typed above. I worked my pint sized ass off, not only to keep up with a busy/insane photography schedule… but to hand craft our own perfect little celebration.
This year will change, in that I promise to share more of the work I’ve been immersing myself in. This year I have my best friend and love by my side. This has all become much more than a career, this is much more than a passion, this is my way of life. Corny I know, but I’m so grateful to have found an creative output, and to have it embraced by so many.
Six long months ago, I traveled to Toronto for a bit of work; including a long over due engagement shoot with two lovely, lovely people.
I would love to shoot more in the big city, let’s talk.
PS: 2015 Brides… I’m finally booking!!
I get excited when Harlow and Elise’s mom Moya’s name shows up in my inbox, along with their dad Chris – they’re pretty much the most beautiful family in the greater St. John’s area. It’s amazing how much Harlow has grown in the last year, where she took her first steps in front of my camera – now she’s running around, riding her bike – telling me stories about a fall off aforementioned bike, while still getting stoked on treats.
And there’s little Elise, the little new daisy of the family. While it was hard to get Harlow to hang around newborn Elise for more than a second, she sure has the affectionate big sister role down pat.
This is what happens when you ask Harlow if the bunny by Elise…
Harlow recounting a harrowing tale of bruising her chin while riding the bike. I think this child is awesome, a future in the theater for sure.
Colin and Raylene were married on a beauty of a day in July in Upper Island Cove.
With a little boat ride to start his day, Colin was good and ready to watch his stylish bride walk up the aisle. The sun was splitting the rocks, the laughter could be heard miles around – and the incredible light we were given was all you could dream of.
Not so successful…
Major props to the little people!
Couldn’t be more thankful for the beautiful sunshine.
Rivers is destined to be a rockstar. There’s music in his blood, hell his dad bought him his first guitar the day he was born!
You might remember his mom and dad from their kick ass wedding a while back!
Look at that wicked canvas in the corner! It’s a shot of Heather, Johnny and MY converse sneakers on their wedding day!!! SO RAD!
You fell in love with Duncan + Amanda during their engagement shoot, now I bring back their adorable and cute love for their wedding. We had a warm, sunny and fun day celebrating their devotion to each other (and cinco de mayo too!)
Their “All You Need is Love” theme popped its head in throughout the festivities, which I adored. Your wedding is your day, get personal with it.
Thank you for having Conrad and I. xo
On a day in mid-December, we drove to Green’s Harbour (near my home town) and shot a beautiful wedding (and did I forget to mention it was 6 degrees?) Ian and Jenelle themselves, are incredible people – but what makes them a family is their energetic little boy Tyson. I wish all of my December weddings are as unique and fun (and warm) as this one was.
With everything perfect in place, a few quick shots with a nervous smirks, it’s her two men who really brings out the big smiles.
Tyson getting the finishing touches on his tie, he has a big role today.
He has to be there when his mom and dad tie the knot!
Obviously, in his wise age he had advice to give to mommy.
Ian, abided by the power of Wine, stepped up and sang to his new wife John Prine’s “In Spite of Ourselves” in one of the cutest romantic gesture I’ve ever seen.
