Amy + Trevor | Whimsical & Rustic Circus Wedding | Offbeat Newfoundland Wedding Photography
From their engagement shoot alone, I knew their wedding was going to be one I’d never forget. Their relationship is pure love, beauty and a lot of being silly. The amount of time and dedication that went into each and every detail of this wedding is over whelming, everything was personal, everything was perfect.
Some say it takes a village to raise a child, I think it takes a village to make a wedding THIS magical to happen. My heart, head and camera were happy after this wonderful day.
Who says the groomsmen have to pose awkwardly before the ceremony, why not play Mario kart?
These signs were hand made by Amy’s mother! She’s seriously on wheels, they were beautiful!
Just calming the nerves.
If you’re wondering it’s hibiscus flowers and raspberries in champagne, and yes it was delicious.
Amy’s grandfather restores antique toys, candy machines oh, and fire trucks!
I believe this is where I said “you’re velociraptors”
Ryan + Trudy :: Lamaline, Newfoundland Wedding Photography – August 11th, 2012
I still remember the first email I ever received from Ryan, it was 2007 and he was so polite and formal in asking me to come take photos of his band Queen’s Maid. That was the first and last time I got polite and formal out of him, because I quickly became friends with him and his long-time girlfriend Trudy and we were front row to every show the band played. We became a force to be reckoned with, front row ladies if you will.
With every passing year, everyone grew anxious… tens of thousands of years had passed it seemed since the two of them started their school romance, where was the ring? They were already joined at the hip, their families had become one big family – and their friends knew that there was no one else for each other.
Then one Christmas, it happened. Trudy said she knew it was a ring the moment she felt the box in her stocking, Ryan asked, she said yes and the rest – it’s history long in the making.
Aimee + Chris :: Signal Hill Engagement – August 4th, 2012
Aimee and Chris contacted me initially for photography on their wedding day, next August. Since they were home visiting, this might be the only chance we had to grab their engagement photos – so we squeezed in a quick shoot on Signal Hill one beautiful evening as the sun set over St. John’s Harbour.
Love everything about this shoot, the time of day, the lighting – and the carefree love these two share. Can’t wait until the wedding ❤
Chad + Nicole :: Shoal Point Vs. Jean de Baie :: Newfoundland Wedding Photography
If you want to meet a couple who know how to have a good time on their wedding day, here you are. Chad and Nicole had fun and great times on lock down during their early August wedding.
The weather worked in our favour, we had a beautiful location on Wild Beach each to shoot – and they had an amazing bridal party. Trust me, a rocking bridal party and a carefree relaxed attitude makes all the difference on your wedding day.
(Plus an energetic crazy photographer too of course!)
Anna – Newfoundland Child Photography
Anna’s no stranger to my camera, she’s been in front of it since she was a twinkle in her father’s eye. So much energy and such a spark, even at her young age.
We had so much fun roaming the scenic Newfoundland town of Petty Harbour and beautiful Cape Spear.
Mari! – St. John’s, Newfoundland Child Photography
Mari is a character, she’s pretty much all personality and plenty of fun!!
First ran into her pretty little face as the official Wild Lily Dance center ballerina baby, so excited her mom and dad had me join them for a few family photos.
Nick + Lorleanne :: Newfoundland Wedding Photography – July-28-12
I couldn’t have painted better light on Nick and Lorleanne’s wedding day, the over cast greys brought out the colors so vidily. Through the drizzle, her beautiful smile lit up Nick’s face during their ceremony – which included a beautiful colourful hand fasting ceremony.
Their love has brought them two rambunctious little boys – who nearly stole the show from their parents. These two were up for anything, and snuck away from their reception in the Bowering Bungalow for a few photos in the park just as the sun was setting.
The best light in the summer is usually the few hours before the sun sets, and that precious time minutes after it goes below the horizon… it’s hard to capture that on a wedding day, but if you time it just right…
Colin + Raylene :: July 21 – Newfoundland Wedding Photography
Colin and Raylene were married on a beauty of a day in July in Upper Island Cove.
With a little boat ride to start his day, Colin was good and ready to watch his stylish bride walk up the aisle. The sun was splitting the rocks, the laughter could be heard miles around – and the incredible light we were given was all you could dream of.
Not so successful…
Major props to the little people!
Couldn’t be more thankful for the beautiful sunshine.
The Chafes – Newfoundland Family Portraits
This summer has been busy, I’ve become more than best friends with my camera and computer. I’ve got the photographer calluses, the hand cramps and the back pains. I can’t seem to edit fast enough, answer emails fast enough or fit everyone in before summer’s end. I’ve said time and time again I’m just one little person trying to chase these pipe dreams of mine – I’m grateful for offbeat, amazing and patient clients.
A while back (I’m talkin’ mid July here) I spent the afternoon with Eden and her parents, Amy and Mitchell. With a cameo by Aunt Candice and cousin Ethan. Wonderful time taking these lovely little shots.
Thomas + Valerie :: July 13th -Lamaline, Newfoundland Rustic DIY Nautical Wedding
This wedding.
This wedding took time. Patience. Love. It was hand-made with nurture and care by family and friends of the newlyweds. It was Friday the 13th. Things that could go wrong, did.
But Tommy and Val shrugged it all off. Love is lucky you see.
They were there to celebrate their love, their marriage, their child – and the laughter never stopped the whole day.
Get creative, step outside the norm. Get offbeat. Let’s get wild, let’s have fun – at the end of the day all that matters is the fun you’ve had with friends and family. At the end of the day it’s you and him/you and her. Be yourself. Be true to you. Be true to each other.
I had a lot of fun shooting this one. (Selena, get your tissues out)
Amelia + Scarlett
Baby sisters are pretty cool. Especially ones like Scarlett. Amelia does an awesome job of being a big sister, cool kid and a pleasure to have in front of the camera.
