Kimberly + Leo | Traditional Inspired Petty Harbour Newfoundland Wedding

They talked about the wedding, six months in advance.
Some said it was foolishness, others said romance.
They bought a little boat and named it Maggie for her Mom.
They shed a tear when they christened her, for Maggie had passed on.
The boat would be a symbol of something old and something new.
It would join them both together, when Kimberly said “I do”.

Every wedding I shoot is unique, stunning and memorable in it’s own way but Kim and Leo’s wedding was something straight out of a story book. A fairytale in it’s own right, a Newfoundland fairytale… involving two people’s love for each other, the cold north atlantic and our beautiful province.

She sailed up to the stage in the make and break
His heart, no longer would have to ache
The band played jigs and reels, by the sea
no one sang “Oh Promise Me”
Kimberly made a lovely bride
She smiled with Leo by her side
The bridesmaids all wore rubber boots
The men wore straps instead of suits
Some folks snickered, others shed a tear or two
But everyone remembers when Kimberly & Leo said “I do”

They called her Maggie and some would say
She is the symbol of another Day
The Island Rooms is where they wed
Two hearts became one on the stage head.

During the ceremony, Kimberly’s mothers very best friends (and extremely eccentric women) came to have a shot of Lambs to christen their little boat named Maggie.

The Navigators were the tunes, and really set the mood for the party. This beautiful spot, Island Rooms of Petty Harbour will eventually become a place to teach our future about the past. From cod fishing, filleting and cooking – and all the household chores in between, Kim and Leo hope to set up a educational, fun and entertaining location to help keep the past in our future!Kimberly & Leo

The beer was wheeled in barrows, the dinner fish and chips
People watched from everywhere, from stage and wharf and cliff
The Lambs was poured and by half past eight
Not even the band could navigate.
There are some that can’t remember the rest of the night, it’s true
But everyone remembers when Kimberly & Leo said “I do”

This may be just about THE best wedding I have EVER seen! As soon as I saw the wellies, I knew Victorian Trading Company had a part to play! I just literally (30 minutes ago), placed an order from their catalog! Many years of happiness to you!💞
