I’ve really fallen behind on blogging, there’s no one to blame but myself.

Things I did on my brief blogging hiatus:

• Took thousands of photos: musicians, babies, weddings… oh my!
• Started practicing yoga
• Read so many books
• Covered Canadian Music Week 

but most of my time was spent…

• Planning and crafting all the DIY factors for my offbeat little wedding. (It’s more work than you think, but it will be worth it!)

So to make up for the lack of photos, the next few blogs will be a potpourri of portraits.

 

 

Steve & Marie decided to get engaged and be mind blowingly awesome at the same time.

Rick and Lois finally tied the knot, in a beautiful tiny little ceremony at the Leaside Manor.

Addison and I had a bit of fun grabbing a few photos for her Christmas card to all her fabulous friends.

And adorable Eden celebrated her first Christmas with her super cool and loving parents!

 

 

Stephanie + Doug | Newfoundland Fall Engagement

During this shoot, there were two things competing for attention: The first being Stephanie’s absolutely beautiful looks and natural ability in front of the camera. The second being Doug’s epic Movember mustache.

Honorable mention to the beautiful fall sunlight, Newfoundland you continue to outdo yourself. Well.. not right now, but I know you got good weather in you!

Can’t wait for the wedding!

Victoria + Darryl | Newfoundland Vintage Engagement

Victoria has STYLE. She has VISION! If make the same magic happen, as we did on her and Darryl’s engagement shoot, on their wedding day – we’ll be laughing. Despite getting caught in rain shower, this shoot was just perfect from start to finish.

Kendra + Gary | Rainy Day Downtown St. John’s Engagement Shoot

I was the most excited when Kendra first emailed me about her central Newfoundland wedding, and when I got a chance to finally meet them and do a few engagement shots early in November – I was beyond stoked!

Since they were visiting town, we had a small window of time to do the shoot… and the rain started to pour half way through the shoot. We decided to take refuge in the Atlantic Place parking garage, to get coverage but still get some St. John’s in the background, when the elevator we were in stopped working we were stuck between floors with nine other people!! A a good 45 minutes we were freed, and kept on shooting!

So this is officially the most interesting and adventure filled engagement shoot, because Kendra and Gary just trucked on through the rain and stuck elevator like it was nobodies business. I’m serious when I say I’m up for anything if you are!!!

Matt + Melissa | Stunning Fall Engagement | St. Johns, NL

So Matt and Melissa are currently very happy to refer to themselves as Mr & Mrs. Pope right now, as they tied the knot in December in the most beautiful wedding.

(Which I won’t spoil, coming soon on the blog!)

Before they were husband and wife, we walked the roads of St. John’s soaking up the stunning golden sun as it streamed through the colourful tree branches. These were shot during that perfect moment the sun does that thing it does… You can almost hear their laughter and love through the photos.

 

Colton | The Kid’s First Hockey Bench | Newfoundland Child Photography

So, Colton you’ve met several times by now.. and he’s basically ready to go into post secondary school already. Earlier in the fall we dropped by the Capital Hyundai Arena (big thanks to the guys there!!) and then took a wander downtown to grab a few shots of the cuteness of this little family that means oh so much to me.

Peter + Kerilynn | St. John’s Love Photography

I don’t know what to call this shoot, other than a Love shoot. Peter and Kerilynn were married last year – and to celebrate surviving their first year together, they decided to do a few photos downtown St. John’s.

Jack & Harry | Foggy + Fun Family Portraits

One foggy morning this fall I joined the Drovers on a little walk to grab a few shots of the energetic twins, Jack and Harry. Before the walk, I was introduced to the coolest of toys – just to break the ice. These kids have such  amazing personalities, they were such a joy to have in front of my lens.

Reese Turns One | Newfoundland Child Photography

While Reese’s dad was working (mainly so he wouldn’t stop the mess we were going to make) her Mom Lori and I decided to let her eat a cake or two, and take a few photos to celebrate her first year on this earth! What better way to end of an afternoon of cake eating than a bath with your puppy.

I don’t know if I’ve ever laughed this hard at a kid during a shoot, Reese is a never ending bundle of fun.
